Last week my PhD journey came to its end. The date of the defense happened to be the same day (and even time) that one of the grandfathers of echolocation research defended his own thesis 51 years ago! Prof. Uli Schnitzler at Tübingen university sent special regards and indeed brought me good luck :)

It was a fantastic day and I thank my family, all my friends and colleagues who celebrated it with me. I am indefinitely grateful to Lutz who introduced me to the bats an astonishing 15 years ago and has since taught me how to be a scientist. And I thank Holger for his ideas, his enthusiam and support!
