One sunny June weekend, the Munich Soapbox Science event took place at Odeonsplatz. Promoting science and women in science, it follows the historic format of Speaker’s Corner where speakers stand on a soapbox and talk to by-passers.
It was an honour and real fun to be among the twelve speakers, talking to the public about my research and about being a researcher.
After my own slot I joined my visiting friends and listened to the other speakers. This both inspired and empowered me even more!
I'm not sure I will be around next time to speak at Soapbox Science Munich, but this event is happening all over the world, so maybe see you somewhere on a soapbox on the other side of the planet!
